I watched it, too. I have never liked the Duggars (so creepy and so, so smug and holier-than-thou!) After watching the doc, I felt so sad for those kids. I hope that they find the strength and courage to break free from their parents' poison. And I can't believe how Josh Duggar's wife still sticks by him!! Come on, girl, if you don't have any dignity or concern for yourself, at least protect your children!!
I always thought they were weird as well. It was especially bothersome when some wit would ask if we were just like them because I had a large family and homeschool. My life was so far away from theirs as to not be in the same universe but they tainted a lot of large families and homeschoolers.
Jennifer, I think that his wife is so brainwashed, she truly believes he is innocent. She was raised in this lifestyle, and her parents and in laws are likely pushing her to continue supporting him. Perhaps she feels some relief that her children will be almost grown when he gets out. I hope that her sisters-in-law that have seen the light will have more influence now. Time will tell. Prayers are needed for everyone in that situation!!

Yes, I pity that young woman and her children. It seems she is living with his parents so the cycle is likely to continue. Horrifying.
I decided not to watch the documentary, after reading the many discussions about it.
Bill Gothard and his church, along with the Duggars, needed to be exposed.
(Of course, that word alone probably made them gasp.)
I hope that some good comes from this, that maybe some of the fathers of these families will see the light!
Their wives and children deserve better.
Anybody who looked closely could see that it was a cult, rather than a real religion. It might be funny if it hadn't been so creepy!!
