From My Commonplace
A New Series
I recently undertook to jump-start my creativity by writing more intentionally in my commonplace and doing some creative journaling. It gave me the idea for a new little series that will be ongoing here. Each week I will share: a thought, what I am reading, a saint to accompany us through the week, something beautiful, something homey, and a blessing. It’s kind of harking back to the old blogging days when people would share short snippets of their lives. I’m thinking of Leila Lawler’s series Pretty, Happy Funny, Real and the Simple Woman’s Daybook.
This Week’s Thought
“Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check. But that is not what I have found. I have found that it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love.”
Gandalf to Galadriel in The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey by J.R.R. Tolkien
